ABDI

Abdi Mohamed is the Managing Director and CEO of Absa Bank Kenya. He has 30 years of experience in retail and consumer banking, including with the ABSA Group Ltd. Since 1994. He began his career in finance as a bank teller, working his way up to executive roles across Eastern & Southern Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Europe. Prior to his entry into the banking sector, Mr. Mohamed was a teacher for several years. In 2020 and 2021, Mr. Mohamed was recognized as the best banking CEO in Tanzania by Global Brands Magazine. He is a values-driven leader who is passionate about CSR and social welfare. He received his Bachelor of Commerce with Honors from Kenyatta University and an International MBA from Edith Cowan University.
