Rik Kirkland is chair of Douglas Knowledge Partners, a strategic content consultancy with offices in Cape Town and London. From 2008 to 2020, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company and led the firm’s global print and online activities. From 2000 to 2005, Kirkland was editor of Fortune magazine, where he worked for more than two decades and served as Washington editor, Europe editor, international editor, and deputy editor. He has been a frequent guest on CNN and CNBC and a moderator at the Davos World Economic Forum, Fortune’s Global Forum, and the Microsoft CEO Summit. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
